Blocks become activities and steps – all you need to know

Changes in upcoming release: November 7th, 2025

A module in VOXT has so far been made up of blocks of different types, like for example Information and Trilemma.

Until now. We say goodbye to blocks, and welcome Activities and Steps: From now on, a module is made up of activities, and activities are made up of one or more steps.

Blocks become activities and steps

What does this mean for you? Let us first look into what this means for editing modules, and then for running sessions.

Editing modules

You add new activities in the same way you previously added new blocks. But where there used to sometimes be multiple blocks included automatically, there will now instead be multiple steps within the activity.

The activities can be moved up and down just like blocks. This actually works even better with activities, since they are more independent than the blocks.

Activities for Co-creation and exploration

  • The blocks Co-creation and Co-trilemma have now become the activity Co-creation and Exploration.
  • The block Trilemma has become the activity Exploration.

In the figure above, we can see how the new activity provides a better overview of all the steps, and it is easy to turn training and prioritization on and off as desired.

Running sessions

New steps: The new steps prioritization and dialogue give better control when running a session. Previously, you would automatically move to these when everyone had explored all the trilemmas.

This has been changed, so the facilitator now controls when they wants to move on to prioritization or dialogue. The pie charts now appears in the new dialogue step.

Activities and steps in a VOXT session The navigation bar is now divided into activities and steps, but is used exactly as before.

Questions and answers

Will existing modules be affected by this? Yes, the changes affect both existing and new modules. Old modules will be automatically converted so that blocks become activities and steps.

Do I need to do anything to run a new session with an existing module? The conversion happens automatically, but we recommend that you review the session to familiarize yourself with the new activities and steps.
